Dr. Crystal Glover receives USPRA Research Award
At a ceremony in Minneapolis, MN on May 21 2012, Center faculty member Crystal Glover received the Carol T. Mowbray Early Career Research Award from the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association: Named in memory of Dr. Carol Mowbray, this award is presented annually to an individual who has independently conducted research addressing an issue of importance to psychiatric rehabilitation practice or policy, in collaboration with a psychiatric rehabilitation agency or organization. Dr. Glover's research addresses the impact of stigma and other cultural devaluations on people in recovery who are members of racial and ethnic minority groups. She has also examined professional competencies of supported employment service providers working in urban PSR settings. Currently, Dr. Glover is studying the use of a diabetes registry to support medical and mental health care management for people with psychiatric disabilities and co-occurring diabetes.
